Discover how a Southeast Washington, D.C. factory, built in 1919 and originally designed for the manufacturing of munitions and ship parts for the US Navy, has been creatively converted into Bluejacket brewery. Dario Davies, principal architect, FORMDesign and Bluejacket staff lead a tour of the brewery illuminating the brewing process and how the building’s interior design directly contributes to the production of beer. After the tour, continue the conversation on adaptive reuse, historic preservation and urban production spaces with your fellow explorers at Bluejacket’s attached restaurant beginning at 1:30.

Urban Salons illuminate the past, present, and future of the built environment in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The program consists of an interactive site visit led by knowledgable guides, and a post-tour converstion with fellow explorers in a nearby cafe to share thoughts, insights, and questions about the site visit experience.
$15. Pre-registration required. Space is limited to 10 people. Ticket price does not include food or beverages.
