Climate ABC: Are You Carbon Curious?

Date:
Monday, February 28, 2022
Time:
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Climate ABC Rectangular LogoLearn why a multi-disciplinary effort on carbon’s life cycle in the building process is essential to addressing climate change. Fernando Arias, director of sustainability, Clark Construction Group, Teresa Rainey, PE, LEED Fellow, director of engineering and senior principal, EYP, and Steven Spehn, director of facilities and capital planning Carleton College, discuss carbon’s impact on the environment, the innovative technologies employed to measure its impact, and the methods and materials that reduce its use during the construction process. The program is moderated by Susan Piedmont-Palladino, architect and director of Virginia Tech’s Washington Alexandria Architecture Center.

Climate ABC (Action/Building/Community) is a new signature series focusing on three essential aspects to addressing climate change: Actions by individuals, businesses, non-profits, policy makers, and civic entities; Building -- examples of both physical structures and landscapes, as well as coalitions of stakeholders; and Communities at every scale that are working to slow climate change.

This program will be presented live via Zoom. Once you complete your ticket purchase, you'll receive a confirmation email containing the link to attend the webinar.
