Architect of Brutal Poetry
2021 / 70 min / Slovakia Director: Ladislav Kabos

Hans Broos, a famous Brazilian architect, German by origin, is the subject of this revealing film.  Suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, he decides to tell the story of his life to his reflection in the mirror and confesses to acts as a reflection of his own memories.

Shown with:

Form and Place: Arthur Erickson
2021 / 3 min / Canada
Director: Mike Bernard

Arthur Erickson left a legacy of inspiring buildings across Canada and around the world. A number of his homes and buildings remain as iconic structures in the fabric of BC’s landscape.  This film contemplates a number of those places and spaces while an archived interview with the architect plays out within them resonating with the structures and locations. The effect is a merging of the voice and philosophy of Erickson with his finished work.
