Members are invited to view Secret Cities: The Architecture and Planning of the Manhattan Project before it opens to the public. This exhibition explores the "Secret Cities" of Oak Ridge, TN; Hanford/Richland, WA; and Los Alamos, NM, which the U.S. Government built during World War II in order to produce an atomic bomb before the Axis powers could do so. It examines these cities as proving grounds for modern ideas about architecture, urban planning, and building technology.

The 2:00 pm tour is now full.

We are adding a second tour, also led by G. Martin Moeller, Jr., senior curator, at 3:30 pm.

Tour space is limited and requires RSVP by Friday, April 27 to membership@nbm.org or to the Membership Department at 202.272.2448. This second tour may fill before the April 27 RSVP deadline.

Reservations are not required to view the exhibition at other times during Member Preview Day.
