David M. Childs, FAIA, consulting design partner at SOM and former chairman of the National Capital Planning Commission, receives the American Architectural Foundation’s inaugural George M. White Award. Sandra Day O'Connor, Supreme Court Justice (ret.), Ronald E. Bogle, Hon. AIA, President and CEO of the American Architectural Foundation, and the Honorable Stephen T. Ayers, FAIA, LEED AP, Architect of the Capitol, will make remarks. Mr. Childs will then join a panel of leading experts to discuss urban design and architecture in the public realm, and the role of the architect in the city.
Panelists include:
Philip Enquist, FAIA, Partner in Charge of Urban Design and Planning,  Skidmore, Owings and Merrill
Robert A. Peck, Hon. AIA, Director of Workplace Consulting for the Southeast Region, Gensler
