Equity in the Built Environment: Where Is My Land?

Date:
Wednesday, May 18, 2022
Time:
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Online Program

Learn about the land reclamation movement through the work of Where is My Land? whose mission is to return unfairly seized ancestral lands to communities of color. Kavon Ward, co-founder of Where Is My Land?, and Kamala Miller-Lester, research lead, discuss this effort and share the story in successfully returning land to the Bruce family of Manhattan Beach, California. The program is facilitated by Maisie Hughes, co-founder of Urban Studio, and senior director of urban forestry, American Forests.

This program continues the National Building Museum's Equity in the Built Environment series of conversations that focus on how buildings, landscapes, interiors, and streets can be the cause of—and, more important, the cure for—social and racial disparities.

FREE.

This program will be presented live via Zoom. Click here to receive the link to attend the webinar.
