Go inside the stories of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, one of Washington’s most prominent government buildings of the Gilded Age (1870s- 1900). National Building Museum curator Susan Piedmont-Palladino moderates a panel discussion with U.S. Commission of Fine Arts Secretary Thomas Luebke, and architectural historian Kay Fanning who share insights about this building’s complex history—including its elaborate design, its prominent occupants, and the decades-long saga of decline and rehabilitation. Thomas Luebke will sign copies of the book Palace of State following the program.
