Explore the creative potential of the edge between campus and city. Gallaudet University campus architect Hansel Bauman leads a tour of the university’s proposed redevelopment of its 6th Street NE properties between the campus and the emerging Union Market area. Discover how DeafSpace design principles are being applied to the project. The tour ends at nearby Union Market where the group continues to discuss DeafSpace design, urban redevelopment, and streetscape planning in D.C.

Urban Salons illuminate the past, present, and future of the built environment in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The program consists of an interactive site visit led by knowledgeable guides, and a post-tour converstion with fellow explorers in a nearby cafe to share thoughts, insights, and questions about the site visit experience.

$15. Pre-registration required. Space is limited to 15 people. Ticket price does not include food or beverages.

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Online registration for this program closes at midnight the day before the program.
