Explore the creative potential of the edge between campus and city with Gallaudet University campus architect Hansel Bauman. Tour the University’s proposed DeafSpace design and redevelopment of its 6th Street NE properties between the campus and the nearby Union Market area.

The tour ends at Union Market where the group discusses DeafSpace design, urban redevelopment, and streetscape planning in D.C.

Urban Salons illuminate the past, present, and future of the built environment in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The program consists of an interactive site visit led by knowledgeable guides, and a post-tour converstion with fellow explorers in a nearby cafe to share thoughts, insights, and questions about the site visit experience.

Registration is $15. Pre-registration required. Space is limited to 15 people. Ticket price does not include food or beverages.

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Online registration for this program closes at midnight the day before the program.

This salon is supported by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts
