This tour has been moved to May 20th due to rain.
Susan Piedmont-Palladino, Museum
curator, leads a bike tour of Buzzard Point, highlighting current use, planned
developments, ideas to improve the public realm and future connections to
points of interest in Southwest such as the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail,
Nationals Park, the Navy Yard, and adjacent neighborhoods. A peninsula in
Southwest D.C. between the Anacostia River and the Washington Channel, Buzzard
Point is being transformed from a primarily isolated industrial area into a new
mixed-use neighborhood anchored by the future DC United Soccer Stadium.
Participants should be comfortable with on-street riding. The Museum does not provide bikes or helmets.
