In 2010, the General Services Administration began construction of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) headquarters consolidation on the grounds of the St. Elizabeths West Campus in Washington, D.C.’s Ward 8. In this second of a continuing series of tours of St. Elizabeths, GSA representatives lead a tour of this National Historic Landmark campus, including renovations to the historic buildings and construction of the new headquarters of the U.S. Coast Guard.
