Explore social issues and the creative process of architecture through imaginative fiction and artwork. The National Building Museum and Blank Space present the winners of the 2017 Fairy Tales competition. Enjoy passages from the winning stories read by Lauren Ober, host of WAMU’s The Big Listen, and hear an illuminating interview with Alan Maskin, principal at Olson Kundig, the design firm that was awarded the top prize in 2016, about their story-crafting process. 

$12 Museum Members | $5 Student | $20 Non-member. Pre-registration required. Walk-in registration based on availability.


Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Registration is for event planning purposes only and does not guarantee a seat. Online registration for Museum programs closes at midnight the day before the scheduled program.

The Museum's award-winning Shop and Firehook Café are open for one hour prior to the start of the program. Shop and Café hours are subject to change.
