Performers excitedly rush out of Hive and onto the stage…

"Oh my goodness, I can’t believe we almost missed the event. We just got back. What an amazing adventure. We can’t wait to tell you all about it.”

That's how DISCOVERED! The Amazing Untold Stories of Catenarians begins.

The Museum’s summer block party installation of Hive unknowingly formed a portal to Catenaria, an imaginary, previously unknown world. We sent Creative-in-Residence theatre company dog & pony dc through this portal, across time and space. They want you to know more about this wondrous place, people, and culture and how the world of the Catenarians evolved. In the spirit of dog & pony dc's production of Toast, you'll hear how the catenary arch, the shape of the domes in Hive itself, figures prominently in the architecture and culture of Catenaria. You'll work with each other to create stories about the culture of the Catenarians to share with each other. And you'll end up as excited about Catenaria as our creatives in residence are.

For all ages, Deaf and hearing, disabled and non, humans of this time period, past, or future! Sign language interpretation available for all performances. Free. Space is limited to 65 participants.

DISCOVERED! The Amazing Untold Stories of the Catenarians was crafted exclusively for Hive by hearing and Deaf artists of dog & pony dc.
