ADFF: D.C. Opening Night

Date:
Thursday, February 21, 2019
Time:
5:30 PM - 9:30 PM

The Architecture & Design Film Festival: D.C., presented by the National Building Museum with the Revada Foundation of the Logan Family, returns for another run with an opening night. Join fellow architects, designers, filmmakers, and design enthusiasts for the Washington, D.C. premiere of Frank Gehry: Building Justice. Gehry, in collaboration with Susan Burton, founder, New Way of Life Reentry Project in Compton, California, and architecture students from Sci-Arc and Yale University explore all aspects of prison design, witnessing how design flaws negatively affect those incarcerated.

Following the 7:15 screening of the film, hear a conversation between the film’s director Ultan Guilfoyle and Susan Burton. Frank Gehry: Building Justice will be screened three times during Opening Night.

Port City Brewing is hosting a beer garden and tasting throughout the evening. Before watching the film, enjoy food and drink in the Museum’s Great Hall and celebrate the power of architecture and design through film. Ages 21 and over.
