FREE. Workshop for Washington, D.C. metropolitan area school educators only. The Green Community Teaching Kit is recommended for teachers of students in grades 5-8.

Learn how to bring city planning and “green” building concepts into your classroom at this educator workshop. Museum staff will model lesson plans, demonstrate teaching tools and explore materials from Green Community, the National Building Museum’s classroom-ready curriculum kit. Each participating teacher will receive a Green Community Teaching Kit ($110 value) at no cost. This workshop will be filmed.

This workshop is open to educators at schools in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area including the District of Columbia, Prince George's County, Montgomery County, the City of Alexandria, Arlington County, Fairfax County and Loudoun County.

Teachers outside of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area will also have a chance to acquire a Green Community Teaching Kit. Beginning in January 2013, teachers will have the option of watching an online version of this training workshop and acquiring a kit form the Museum at no cost.
