Recall the heyday of our local silver screens as Amy Davis, author of Flickering Treasures: Rediscovering Baltimore’s Forgotten Movie Theaters, and Robert K. Headley, co-author of Movie Theaters of Washington, D.C., discuss the downtown palaces and neighborhood movie houses in both cities. Theaters like the Ambassador in Baltimore and the DC Theater in D.C., were more than just venues for entertainment they were the cultural and civic hubs around which many main streets flourished. Following the talk, Davis and Headley sign copies of their respective books, which are available for purchase in the Museum’s Shop. This talk is a complement to the exhibition Flickering Treasures.
