Family Afternoon: Design and Build a New American Garden

Date:
Saturday, March 12, 2016
Time:
12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Saturday, March 12, Noon–3 pm

Come learn about landscape architecture as we transform the Great Hall into a life-sized plan drawing. Using elements from  New American Garden: The Landscape Architecture of Oehme, van Sweden, collaboratively build a 2D garden on the floor of the Museum: you'll lay out the whole landscape as if you were looking at it from above. Then, take a trip to the Museum's second or third floor so you can really look at the plan from above, or stick around on the first floor to draw or paint an elevation view of your garden. You'll learn about scale and architectural drawing in a fun and unique way: what will you plant to make our garden special?

Free. Drop-in. All Ages
