The Consolidated Forensic Laboratory (CFL) will pull together Washington, D.C.'s public safety, forensic science, and public health efforts into a single, state-of-the-art facility. Tim O’Connell with HOK, Allam Al-Alami with the District Department of General Services, and Dr. William Vosburgh, Lab Director of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Dept (MPD) will lead a tour of this 287,000-square-foot building, which is seeking LEED® Gold certification. Sustainable features include an operable glazed solar shading system to reduce heat gain, a high efficiency curtain wall that enhances daylight and views, a highly efficient HVAC system that features chilled beams and energy recovery air handling units to optimize energy performance, a large green roof, water recovery cistern, and LIDs that result in zero storm water runoff. 2.0 LU HSW–SD (AIA) / 2.0 CE (GBCI) Open only to Museum members, $25.
