DCBuilds_MLK_Library.jpgD.C.’s central library, designed by renowned modern architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in the early 1970s, has been the subject of both praise and criticism. Philip G. Freelon, FAIA, LEED AP, president of The Freelon Group, presents his firm’s conceptual study of the building and discusses the current renovation efforts that are underway. The program closes with a discussion of the future of the library between Freelon and chief librarian Ginnie Cooper, moderated by Mary Fitch, AICP, Hon. AIA, executive director of AIA DC.

The Museum's award-winning Shop and Firehook Café are open for one hour prior to the start of the program. Shop and Café hours are subject to change.
