The Brooklyn-based collaborative practice Snarkitecture manipulates and reinterprets existing materials, structures, and programs to reveal new ideas about architecture. Founding principal Alex Mustonen and senior associate Benjamin Porto discuss the firm's work, which includes the BEACH, the 10,000 square foot, interactive architectural installation at the National Building Museum that includes an “ocean” of nearly one million recyclable translucent plastic balls.
