Bike Tour: Southwest Washington, D.C.

Bike route sign highlighting nearby destinations on 4th St SW.Washington, D.C.’s, smallest quadrant, Southwest, was completely redeveloped in the 1950s and 1960s, and now it’s undergoing another round of huge changes. Grab your bike and helmet and join Museum curator Susan Piedmont-Palladino for an in-depth exploration of this unique part of the city to see how new developments around the Waterfront Metro, the Wharf on the historic Washington Channel, and the redeveloped Arena Stage are enriching the established mid-century modern neighborhood. Each attendee will recieve a coupon for a FREE 24 hour membership to Capital Bikeshare.

Tour highlights include;

  • the Wharf development on the SW waterfront,
  • classic modernist architecture,
  • historic rowhouses,
  • new mixed-use development and more!

1.5 LU HSW (AIA) / 1.5 CM (AICP) / 1.5 PDH (LA CES)

Open only to individuals 18 years and older, $35. The Museum will not be providing bikes or helmets. Participants should be comfortable with on street riding. On-site registration is not available.
