Crystal Drive Retail Streetscape ProjectIn 2006, Arlington, VA began working on a plan to define a new vision for Crystal City, in response to significant impending changes from 2005 BRAC decisions. A decade later, both public and private investments and efforts are actively advancing the area’s renewal in a variety of ways.

Anthony Fusarelli, Jr., principal planner with Arlington’s Planning Division, explains key goals of the plan, and describes how near-term programming, place making, and creative planning solutions are jump-starting Crystal City’s evolution into a more diverse and complete urban community. This talk is offered as part of Smart Growth programming.
