Construction Watch Tour: American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial

CWT_AVDLM.jpgThe American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial, sited within view of the Capitol building, honors the sacrifices of some of our most inspirational heroes. Doug Hays with Michael Vergason Landscape Architects and Gerald Tritschler with Shalom Baranes Associates lead a tour of this 1.7-acre memorial, which features granite walls bearing inscriptions, glass elements incorporating the words of the disabled along with moving imagery, an expansive reflecting pool, and a star-shaped fountain with flames dancing on its surface.
