CityVision Fall 2012 Final Presentation

Students work together to complete plan drawing of site.

During the fall 2012 CityVision semester, DCPS middle school students from Takoma Education Campus and Raymond Education Campus learned about urban design, and explored the city. In collaboration with volunteers from the District Department of Transportation and the Washington, D.C. area, the students investigated and analyzed the area above the tracks at Union Station. They will present their plans for decking over the tracks and creating a denser, more vibrant transportation hub.

CityVision instills in students that they can change the world around them and enact positive change in their lives and the lives of others through good design. As students explore neighborhoods, brainstorm solutions, and accomplish projects together, they learn the importance of teamwork, problem solving, and advocacy skills.
