The Quartermaster: Montgomery C. Meigs, Lincoln's General, M

Montgomery C. Meigs, Lincoln's General, Master Builder of the Union Army

Robert O'Harrow, Jr, an award-winning investigative reporter for The Washington Post discusses his new book, The Quartermaster. This intensely personal biography of Montgomery C. Meigs--architect and engineer of the National Building Museum's landmark home--sheds new light on one of the nation's most important, but underappreciated Civil War generals. In recounting how Meigs was able to successfully feed, clothe, and arm the Union Army, O'Harrow reveals what it means to be a fierce, honest, loyal, and progressive public servant. A book-signing follows the talk.
