Spotlight on Design: Jean Nouvel |
|
French architect Jean Nouvel was selected as the Hyatt Foundation’s 2008 Pritzker Architecture Laureate for his innovative approach to conventional architectural problems and his tireless attention to the distinct cultural, physical, and programmatic needs of each project he works on. His United States projects include the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis; Tour de Verre, a 75-story tower in progress next door to MoMA in New York; and the recently announced plans for SunCal Tower, a high-rise condominium in Los Angeles. Nouvel joins an accomplished group of Pritzker Prize Laureates who have spoken at the Museum, including Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas, Glenn Murcutt, and I.M. Pei. Nouvel will discuss his body of work, which is being celebrated for significant contribution to the built environment through the art of architecture. 1.5 LU (AIA) Students: $10
