Cub Scout Day 2012 - Session 2: 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Online registration for Cub Scout Day is closed. We will be accepting walk-in registrations on a first-come-first-served basis on Saturday.

Scout Paper Tower ChallengeJoin us for Cub Scout Day at the National Building Museum, a day designed especially for Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos cub scouts. Explore the world we build for ourselves and work on badge requirements.

Boys will explore the built and “unbuilt” sides of Washington, D.C. during hands-on activities, exploring why Washington, D.C. looks the way it does. They’ll investigate some of the plans and buildings that weren’t built, and they will create designs for the future of the city. Boys will participate in multiple hands-on activities and have the opportunity to talk to building professionals.

  • Dream Green Home-Learn about methods and materials for building “green,” then build the eco-friendly home of your dreams with the help of recycled materials.
  • “How High?” Tower Design Competition-Enter the National Building Museum’s tower building competition to see how high you can go using only newspaper and tape!
  • Memory Maps-Draw a mental map of your own neighborhood and add your ideas of places and design features to make it even better!
  • Mini Monuments-Sculpt a miniature monument to a person, event or idea inspired by your visit to Unbuilt Washington.
