Homeschool Day

The National Building Museum invites individual families to register for the Museum’s final Homeschool Day of the 2013-2014 school year on Monday, June 2, 2014. For a description of the programs offered, click on a program name below.

You must register for each program separately. Pre-registration is required by the end of the day on Thursday, May 29, 2014. Walk-in registration will be available for any programs not filled during pre-registration. You are welcome to register for a morning program and an afternoon program. If you have any questions about the event, please read the Homeschool Day FAQ or contact the Museum at 202.272.2448 or at youthgroups@nbm.org.

If the program you're interested in is sold out, consider gathering a group of homeschool students and registering for a group program.

Pre-registration has closed. Walk-in registration will be available on a first-come first-served basis for the programs indicated below beginning at 9:30 am on June 2nd. 

Monday, June 2 Program Schedule

Morning Programs

Be a Green Builder, 10-14 year olds, 10 am to 12 noon SOLD OUT
Engineering Egg Drop, 7-9 year olds, 10 am to 12 noon 5 spots available for walk-in registration.
Architecture 101, 7-9 year olds, 10 am to 12 noon 5 spots available for walk-in registration.
Build a Green Roof, 4-6 year olds, 10:30 am to 12 noon SOLD OUT
 

Afternoon Programs

Architecture 101, 10-14 year olds, 1 pm to 3 pm SOLD OUT
City by Design, 7-10 year olds, 1 pm to 3 pm SOLD OUT
My House, My Home, 4-6 year olds, 1 pm to 2:30 pm 5 spots available for walk-in registration.


Cost

Programs
Each $10 ticket covers one child’s participation in one homeschool program. There is no cost for adults to chaperone the homeschool programs. This program ticket does not include admission to the Museum’s exhibitions.

Exhibitions
If families would like to visit the Museum’s exhibitions before or after the Homeschool Day programs, discounted exhibition tickets may be purchased online during pre-registration or on the day of your visit. The cost is $3 per participating student and $5 per adult and/or tag-a-long sibling.
