The National Building Museum invites individual families to register for the Museum’s first Homeschool Day of the 2013-2014 school year on January 31, 2014. For a description of the programs offered, click on a program name below.

You must register for each program separately. Pre-registration is required by the end of the day on Tuesday, January 28. You are welcome to register for a morning program and an afternoon program. If you have any questions about the event, please read the Homeschool Day FAQ or contact the Museum at 202.272.2448 or at youthgroups@nbm.org.

If the program you're interested in is sold out, consider gathering a group of homeschool students and registering for a group program.

Registration is closed for the January 31st Homeschool Day. We will have walk in registration for the Be a Green Builder program (1 to 3 pm) only. All other programs are full.

Morning Programs

Fuller's Fantastic Geodesic Dome, 10-14 year olds, 10 am to 12 noon
Engineering Egg Drop, 7-9 year olds, 10 am to 12 noon
Patterns Here, There, and Everywhere, 4-6 year olds, 10:30 am to 12 noon
Build a Green Roof, 5-7 year olds, 10:30 am to 12 noon

Afternoon Programs

Be a Green Builder, 10-14 year olds, 1 pm to 3 pm
Engineering Egg Drop, 10-14 year olds, 1 pm to 3 pm
Architecture 101, 7-9 year olds, 1 pm to 3 pm
My House, My Home, 4-6 year olds, 1 pm to 2:30 pm

Cost

Programs
Each $10 ticket covers one child’s participation in one homeschool program. There is no cost for adults to chaperone the homeschool programs. This program ticket does not include admission to the Museum’s exhibitions.

Exhibitions
If families would like to visit the Museum’s exhibitions before or after the Homeschool Day programs, discounted exhibition tickets may be purchased online during pre-registration or on the day of your visit. The cost is $3 per participating student and $5 per adult and/or tag-a-long sibling.
