National Building Museum

Teen Council Application 2017-2018


Teen Council is a group of 10 creative youth who meet bi-weekly to discuss, design, and engage in various projects and activities to make the National Building Museum and more welcoming and inclusive space for teens.

What will I do?
Get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Museum operates and VIP access to our collections, exhibitions, and programming.

When is it?
We will meet every other Wednesday, 4 – 6:30 pm the Museum, starting October 2017 and ending May 2018. Some additional Saturday events. See Teen Programs page for specific dates.

What’s in it for me?
Leadership and teamwork experience; a Museum ID badge; community service or internship hours; snacks at meetings, occasional dinners; a gener Museum family membership; transportation within Teen Council activities, transportation assistance to and from the Museum is available with expressed or demonstrated need.

Positions are open to any high school student who is interested. No prior participation in the Museum’s teen programming is required. Conversational phone interviews will be scheduled August 28 – September 15. Final decisions will be made by Wednesday, September 20.
